Wolfenstein 3D is the game that's generally regarded as the main basis of the first person shooters genre on the PCs back in 1992. The game was later converted to other video game systems like the Super Nintendo, the Panasonic 3DO and the Atari Jaguar!

Wolfenstein 3DSTORY / GAMEPLAY
The game's story is set during the World War II. You control an American soldier named William "B.J." Blazkowicz and attempt to escape from a Nazi stronghold named "Wolfenstein" where is believed that the Nazis are doing experiments to create a breed of super-soldiers that will lead them to the great win. Your quest is tough as there are many armed guards around as well as some well trained attack dogs. The game is split into six different missions that are extended into thirty levels. Note that each level is actually a maze that you have to find the exit! There are also a number of hidden rooms inside the prison building, containing a variety of valuables like food supplies and medical kits for your energy levels as well as three different guns and ammunition.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
The Atari Jaguar version is pretty close to the PC original and comparably is much better than the versions appeared on the Panasonic 3DO and the Super Nintendo. On the Jag's version you will see all the original game's gory stuff like blood, guts splattered and more! The animation in this primal 3D environment is almost flawless, much like a 486 (or better) at 25-40MHz processor PC version! The sound has also been nicely converted to the Jaguar and it keeps the original sampled voices (achtung!), the tense in-game music and all the other assorted sound effects found on the PCs.

This game is an original! Had it on my 486/25 PC and played it to the end. I've seen it once on my friends Jaguar console and was really great! Never seen another console version, but Jaguar had better hardware than 3DO so the differences were obvious and expected!
